Message from the chief video detective
For twenty years we auctioned art, antiques and collectibles. In 1988, a member of our family
created a "How-to" video and asked if we could help market it. All of a sudden we found
ourselves in the wholesale video business. It was so successful, our auctioning career was put
on hold.
When friends, relatives and acquaintances heard we were now in the video business they would
ask if we could get a particular title. We thought "How hard can this be"? Boy were we naive. We
immediately contacted major distributors only to discover most titles were "out-of-print,
on moratorium, no longer distributed, or worse yet never been released on video or dvd. Now what?"
Ah, what happens when somthing is scarce and can't be had any longer? It becomes a collectible. Having auctioned collectibles, we now had a solution to our problem. All we had to do was to find the collectors and voila we now find ourselves video detectives. Actually,
I'm the
"chief detective."
The odyssey of being the chief video detective has been fun and fascinating, as well as
challenging. A Million and One now has a network of friends, from whom we obtain unavailable
titles. Our success rate is 90%. We hope you will take advantage of our unique service, as we
never give up.
